3 men face assault charges after fight with off-duty officer outside Palace of Auburn Hills

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Three men have been charged in the May shooting at the Palace of Auburn Hills. 

On May 17, an off-duty officer was changing a flat tire in the parking lot of the Kevin Hart concert when a car tried to pull into the next parking spot. Following an argument over the spot, the situation escalated into a physical fight. During the altercation, the officer fired his weapon, hitting two people.

After an investigation, the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office issued charges against Demarius Clark, Darnell Milton, and Davon Stephens.

All three have been charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm, along with an alternate charge of aggravated assault. In addition, Stephens has been charged with larceny of a firearm.  

Aggravated assault is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year and/or a fine of up to $1,000. Larceny of a firearm is a felony punishable by up to 5 years and/or a fine of up to $2,500.
