DETROIT – A very lucky dog is recovering after being rescued from being pulled behind a car in southwest Detroit.
Witnesses in the Delray neighborhood called the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue Thursday when they saw the dog with a rope around its neck being pulled by a car.
Witnesses were able to get the driver to stop, but after letting the dog go, the driver took off.
Witnesses kept the dog until the rescue group could pick it up and take it to a veterinarian.
The dog is expected to be OK as he is being prepared for adoption. For more information, visit the Pit Crew's Facebook page.
Meanwhile, rescuers are hoping someone has information about the driver which can be forwarded to police.
