Hamtramck public schools briefly put on lockdown after phoned-in threat

HAMTRAMCK, Mich. – All Hamtramck Public Schools were briefly put on lockdown Wednesday as a precaution after police received an anonymous call about someone with a gun. 

The district said the call was received about 11:45 a.m. and the caller said someone with a gun either entered or was near the high school.

Police swept the high school and lifted the lockdown about 30 minutes later.
