Al Jazeera America to shut down by April

No description found

DETROIT – Al Jazeera America, the cable news outlet, will close its doors after only three years. The Qatar-based network first started in 2013, and now has 13 locations, including a satellite center in downtown Detroit.

Al Jazeera America says the close comes after years of low ratings and a lack of advertisers. According to a memo that was sent to employees Wednesday, 700 staffers could lose their jobs.
