Sterling Heights man accused of trying to meet underage girl for sex

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A 51-year-old Sterling Heights man is accused of trying to meet an underage female for sex. 

Kevin Paul Prodin was arrested when Macomb County Sheriff's investigators met him at a prearranged location. The Sheriff's Office said Prodin thought he was going to the location to meet the child for sex, but what he didn't know is he had been in communication with undercover Sheriff's investigators who were working to catch him in the act. 

Detectives then executed a search warrant at Prodin's Sterling Heights home where they seized evidence, according to the Sheriff's Office. 

Prodin faces the following charges: 

• Accosting children for immoral purposes
• Communicating with another to commit a crime (two counts)

He was arraigned Thursday and received a $15,000 cash or surety bond. His next court date is scheduled for March 7.
