Detroit Tigers' fans now have a place to offer up a prayer before entering Comerica Park this season.
A 9-foot wooden prayer wall has been built at nearby St. John's Episcopal Church.
Fr. Steven Kelly explains that anyone will be able to put a prayer in the wall and church members will come out and pray over them.
Kelly said the church has held a service for the team every season for the last 16 years, and the wall is just an extension of it.
"We are doing what our Lord commands us, which is we love our neighbors as ourselves. One of the way we love our neighbors as ourselves is that we pray for them,” Kelly said. “We’ll ask God’s blessing on their season, on the employees and we’ll even pray for some victories, even though I’m pretty sure God doesn’t take sides.”
