Man arrested after Lincoln Park car chase ends in Detroit

DETROIT – Sky 4 was in the air when a police chase that started in Lincoln Park ended on Detroit's east side. Officers eventually trapped the fleeing car and surrounded it with guns drawn.

Police said the chase started with a traffic stop in Lincoln Park. The car took off on what became a chase through Lincoln Park and Detroit on and off I-94. It went on for miles and ended on Gratiot Avenue.

Police surrounded the car to try to force it off the road. The driver did everything to avoid being stopped, including driving the wrong way on the road. He eventually went off the road and into the grass, losing his bumper and slamming into a light pole in front of a bank.

There were no injuries in the chase, police said.
