DETROIT – Police said a 9-year-old boy accidentally shot himself after finding a gun in a yard on Sunday.
The boy and his 12-year-old sister were playing about five houses away when they found the gun in the front yard, according to police. The boy took the gun and started to run home when it went off and the shot grazed him in the hand.
The boy's father came out and took and gun, put it in a trash can in the backyard and drove the boy to the hospital
The incident happened in the 17000 block of Faust Avenue.
