Macomb teens arrested, charged with attempted home invasion

Search reveals tools, gloves, and ski-mask in car

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Two Macomb Township residents were video-arraigned Wednesday in the 41A District Court of Shelby Township on attempted home invasion charges.

Kyle Nicholas Campbell, 17, is charged with: 

  • Attempted Home Invasion- Third Degree
  • Possession of Burglar's tools
  • Controlled Substance- Possession of Analogues
  • Controlled Substance- Misdemeanor possession of Marijuana 
  • Drove with a suspended license

Eris Lumani, 18, is charged with:

  • Attempted Home Invasion- Third Degree
  • Controlled Substance- Possession of Analogues

 

At 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, a caller alerted the Macomb County Sheriff's Dispatch Center after witnessing an individual walking around a neighbor's house on Valerie Drive near 21 Mile and Hayes roads.

The suspect was was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and banging on the screen door. The caller confronted him before he could break-in, causing him to flee the scene in a tan Nissan.

Police caught up to the two at Tilch Road and Goldridge where they were then taken into custody.

Deputies said Campbell was driving with a suspended license. A search revealed tools, gloves, and a ski-mask in the car. Various prescription drugs were also discovered along with a small quantity of marijuana. 

The two are being held in Macomb County jail on $10,000 bonds.

Their next court date is set for June 6.
