DETROIT – Police are asking for help from the public in understanding the circumstances surround the death of a woman whose body was found Tuesday morning near Chandler Park on Detroit’s east side.
Kayla Kristine Yaroch, 29, was found deceased on the side of Malcolm Street, near Hern Streets. She had suffered from extensive trauma.

Investigators are looking for anyone who may have seen Yaroch in the area, knows where she was prior to her death, what her destination was, or saw a vehicle strike her.
Capt. Mark Bliss said it appears Yaroch was either hit or dragged by a car. Some clothes were found near the body.
Residents in the area said they have called police multiple times about prostitution on Malcolm Street. People who live in the area said they believe the woman found is someone who they tried to help in the past.
“We feed them, give them clothes and money in the winter because we don’t know if they have family or how they came to this point,” Cherenika Samuel said.
Police said they are trying to figure out if the woman was killed on Malcolm Street where she was found, or was dumped there.
