Loud music, cars and motorcycles could get you a ticket in Royal Oak
$100 fines being issued
Royal Oak is making it easier for police to ticket loud music and engine noise coming from motorcycles and cars.
A new ordinance makes it a civil infraction to emit loud music, vibrations, and engine noises from a vehicle that can be heard from 50-feet away.
Police can issue $100 fines.
It was previously a criminal misdemeanor and now has no criminal penalties.
Police say they want people to enjoy a meal in downtown without being disturbed by music or a loud muffler.
