3-year-old girl hit by police car in Arizona

PHOENIX, Ariz. – A 3-year-old girl is in critical condition after being hit by a Phoenix police car.

Neighbors say the girl was running across the street to an ice cream truck when it happened.

Phoenix fire officials say it was a Phoenix police car that hit the girl.

The officer rendered aid to the girl before she was taken by medical personnel to the hospital.

The Phoenix police department has not confirmed that its car hit the girl, but did say the crash "involved" Phoenix police.
