Michigan child survives three story fall at Florida resort

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – A 9-year-old boy fell three stories at a Lake Buena Vista area resort Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Orange County Fire Rescue responded to Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa after receiving a call about the fall at 4:37 p.m.

The boy's family was gathering their belongings to head back to Michigan when the boy stayed behind in the room on the third floor. A family member returned to the room, heard the child scream and then saw the boy on the ground, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

The boy was alert, conscious and able to walk when first responders arrived.

The child was flown to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, deputies said.
