SOUTHGATE, Mich. – A grandfather was charged Wednesday in the non-fatal shooting of two children on Christmas at a home in Southgate.
Charles A. Miller, 60, of Allen Park, is charged with four counts of assault with intent to commit murder, four counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, two counts of discharge at a building causing injury, four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearms violations.

The shooting was reported at about 10:40 p.m. in the 12000 block of Agnes Street, in the area of Dix-Toledo and Northline roads.
Police said Miller got into a verbal altercation with another guest at the house. He left the home and shots were fired at the house soon thereafter. A 2-year-old girl was struck in the face and a 16-year-old was hit in the wrist as she picking up the toddler.
After the shots were fired, a CPL holder in the house left the home and Miller allegedly fired at him. The CPL holder returned fire and Miller was struck twice.
