MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller is turning heads and turning in the keys to a 2013 Ford Explorer to be auctioned off in a symbolic move of change in her newly elected position.
The Explorer was formerly used by Dino Bucci, deputy public works commissioner during the tenure of former Commissioner Anthony Marrocco. The former congresswoman defeated Marrocco in November.

Miller described the vehicle as being loaded with luxury extras, not in keeping with standard county-owned vehicles.
Miller says the car is symbolic of a past attitude in the Public Works Office in which the management team put a greater focus on enriching themselves, rather than serving local taxpayers.
“The old ways in Public Works are at an end,” Miller said. “There is a new administration that is in charge and has customer service as its number one priority. And our customers are the hard-working taxpayers of Macomb County.”
Earlier this month, a 2013 Ford Taurus, used by Marrocco, was designated to be sold at auction. The vehicle was owned by one of the count’s drainage districts.
“The bottom line is this: anyone here to enrich him or herself needs to find another job – today – because they will not be working here,” she said.
All proceeds from both vehicles will be directed back to the entities that owned them.
