Boxes of documents removed from senator's home

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – Agents with the FBI and Michigan State Police Troopers executed a search warrant at the home and office of State Senator Bert Johnson (D-Highland Park), according to MSP.

Authorities are searching Johnson's Lansing office and his home in Highland Park.

Boxes were removed from the home Monday morning. Some pieces of furniture were torn apart.

Johnson has served in the state Senate since 2010. He is a native of Detroit representing Michigan 2nd district, which includes Highland Park, part of Detroit, Hamtramck, Harper Woods and all of the Grosse Pointes.
