American man accused of planting mock explosive in suitcase at Toronto airport

TORNOTO – An American man is accused of attempting to board a plane from Toronto’s main airport traveling to Chicago with a mock explosive in his suitcase, according to The Associated Press.

The 58-year-old man has been charged with mischief after airport security found the improvised explosive.

The AP reports that the United Airlines plane which was heading to Chicago was deplaned and all luggage was removed, causing long delays for passengers.

Canadian authorities are working to determine the motive behind the mock explosive, and if it may have been a trial run, according to the AP.
