We've even reported on the trespassing epidemic spreading across the state, with one squirrel being captured on camera running amok on a Livonia porch.

In the latest show of entitlement, a cousin of the common squirrel - a chipmunk - was caught on video stealing bird seeds in a Metro Detroit garage.

Local 4's Jason Carr captured the thieving chipmunk with his iPhone. See video below.

The squirrel-chipmunk was detained shortly but was released with a slap on the paw.

Have a squirrel story to report? Let us know - we need to bring these savages to justice.
