Green was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital, where he died the next day.

Police said the shooter, Christian Dejuan Washington, of Hamtramck, was identified at the hotel. According to police, there was a group of people in the room who are known to frequent hotels in and around Oakland and Macomb counties.

Police said the handgun used in the shooting was being recklessly handled before Washington intentionally pointed the weapon at Green and shot him. Police do not know why the gun was aimed at Green.

Washington was charged with manslaughter-death by weapon aimed with intent, but without malice, and felony firearm.

His bond was set at $1 million cash or surety, and he's due back in court Sept. 13.
