DETROIT – It'll be a little easier to get around without a car if you're hanging out in Northern Michigan.
Uber announced the ride-sharing service will expand into Northern Michigan, servicing customers in Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties starting this week.

“We know local residents have been calling out for ride-sharing and Uber is thrilled to launch today in Traverse City," said Uber Spokesperson Charity Jackson. "We look forward to expanding economic opportunities and transportation options for both local residents and visitors."
Lyft expanded across all of Michigan earlier this year.
Uber is offering up to $15 dollars off your first ride by using the promo code "TRAVERSECITY". That promo will be good until December 15.
