While Youmacon is all about the anime, it's great to see that all kinds of pop culture get represented. During our four days of checking it out we saw tons of cosplayers paying tribute to western media, and even coming with their own original takes on heroic archetypes.

Meeting your heroes is a heck of a thing. While we traveled through this convention we got a chance to shake hands with Jon Snow, Iron Man, Catwoman, the Deadpool family, Kylo Ren, and dozens more. Our favorite costume was a group effort: The Teen Titans brought to life by a group of dedicated cosplayers.
These folks all had great energy, and they stayed in character the entire time. Hanging out with them was a treat!

These are the original creations and alternate takes on famous characters that we loved the most. Super cool ideas across the board. The medieval assassin, the bubble gum gal and others were great, but the winner has to go to the "Mecha Eevee-lutions".
These are the various evolutions of the pokemon Eevee, envisioned as futuristic mecha soldiers. They had a crowd of onlookers following them at all times, and we even had Live in the D's own Michelle Oliver grab an impromptu interview with them. Stay tuned for that!
