LANSING, Mich. – A Michigan woman is not happy after she says a bakery botched her cake, which was supposed to be unicorn themed.

Alexandra Schroeder told WILX in Lansing that she spent more than a month planning her daughter’s fifth birthday party. She paid Whipped Bakery $370 to rent space for a baking birthday bash -- and a unicorn cake.

She said the cake was supposed to resemble a unicorn, but ended up far from what she expected.

“The horn came out in a shape that was so embarrassing,” Schroeder told WILX. “It had finger prints on it and was not gold. I could tell that it had been handled. When I asked to see the cake pre-party before my guest arrived I was told it wasn’t finished.”

Schroeder said when she shared pictures of the cake on Facebook, staff accused her leaving the placed trashed, accusing her of not paying her bill, which she denies.

Schroeder said she’s not asking for her money back, she just wants to share her experience. The bakery responded to WILX, offering “no comment,” saying the matter will be handled in litigation.
