Crowd Gathers At Memorial 24 Years After Flight 255 Crash
4-Year-Old Girl Was Lone Survivor
ROMULUS, Mich. – Northwest flight 255 crashed during takeoff Aug. 16, 1987, in Romulus.
People gathered at the Middlebelt Road memorial Tuesday to remember those who were killed in the crash.
Everyone on board the plane died except a 4-year-old girl.
The flight was headed for Phoenix.
A vigil at the memorial began at 8:46 p.m. Tuesday, which was the exact time that the plane went down 24 years earlier.
