Detroit woman heartbroken after dog stolen

Thieves steal Shih Tzu named Sugar Daddy from 82-year-old woman

DETROITThursday an elderly woman on Detroit's west side was attacked and her dog was stolen.

That heartbroken woman is hoping someone can help bring her dog named Sugar Daddy home.

Sunday was another sleepless night for 82-year-old Audrey, who didn't want her last name used.

"I was unable to sleep, I wake up all in the middle of the night thinking about him. Every time I close my eyes I see him," she said.

The men who robbed Audrey were not looking for money, they wanted something priceless from her, they wanted her Shih Tzu.

Surveillance video from a nearby home shows a car backing up to Audrey's house on Basil on Detroit's West Side.

Then a man can be seen grabbing Sugar Daddy and throwing him in the car. Another man went for Audrey's other dog named Baby Doll, but she gets away.

Audrey's daughter believes her mom was targeted. "They came after her for the dogs," said daughter Catherine Coleman.

Coleman is hoping to mend her mother's broken heart. She is putting up posters around town and offering a $2,000 reward to find Sugar Daddy.

"Drop him off somewhere where we can go get him and we will pay the reward," said Audrey. "I just want my baby back. I want my dog back."

If you have any information on the missing dog please call 313-544-8299 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800- SPEAK-UP.
