DETROIT – Former Detroit City Hall insider Sam Riddle is no longer locked up in prison.
Riddle has moved from prison to a halfway house as he is set to be released in January. He will be at the Federal Correctional Institute in Washtenaw County which is a residential re-entry center.
The political consultant has been serving a 37-month prison sentence for bribery.
Riddle has been in the final phase of his incarceration. He is beginning programs meant to help him as he transitions back into society.
The programs include counseling and job placement.
Riddle was convicted for his role in accepting bribes with Conyers, who Riddle served as chief of staff for.
Conyers, who also has been serving a prison sentence, is to be released in May 2013.
