WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police arrested two men and recovered several illegal weapons from a vehicle during a traffic stop.

Troopers stopped a vehicle for drifting onto the shoulder of the road and not having insurance at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, in Washington Township.

Police said a 24-year-old Romeo man was driving the vehicle and that he had several warrants out for his arrest. Police searched the vehicle and found a short-barreled rifle, two brass knuckles, and 12 double-edged daggers. The rifle belonged to the passenger, an 18-year-old from Lapeer, according to police.

The driver was turned over to Imlay City police and the passenger was taken to the Macomb County Jail.
