Police search for person who made fake report of active shooter at Macomb Mall

Officials plan to hold caller responsible

ROSEVILLE, Mich. – Police are searching for the person who made a fake report about an active shooter at the Macomb Mall.

Roseville police officers were sent Thursday, May 23, 2024, to the Macomb Mall after a 911 call about an active shooter.

Officers arrived armed for an active shooter situation, but they realized the call had been a fake and that there was never an active shooter.

Roseville police are investigating the source of the call. They plan to hold that person responsible.
