Metro Detroit woman killed in carriage accident on Mackinac Island

MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. – A 77-year-old woman from Huntington Woods is dead after she collided with a carriage while riding a bike on Mackinac Island.

UpNorthLive reported that police were called around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday to a crash near the intersection of Main St. and Bogan Lane.

The woman was “seriously injured” and transported to McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey and later died.

The crash is under investigation.
