Jason Ross, 50, has been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole by the Michigan Department of Corrections for the brutal murder of his girlfriend.
Officials say on Wednesday (Sept. 4), Ross was found guilty of killing his girlfriend by a Macomb County Jury after a 10-day jury trial.

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 24, 2021, when Ross brutally murdered his girlfriend, Kathleen Hales, 47, by stabbing her multiple times and hitting her with a hammer in their home in Sterling Heights.
Ross hid the body and fled with Hales' credit cards, prescription drugs, and her car.
The 50-year-old man was apprehended in Prescott, MI, with one of the murder weapons and the victim’s belongings.
Ross was found guilty of first-degree murder, a life without parole felony, larceny from a building, a four-year felony, unlawful driving away a motor vehicle, a five-year felony, and stealing a financial transaction device without consent, a four-year felony.
