Everything we know: Man falls to his death onto Lodge Freeway after gas station clerk chases, shoots him
A man has died after he was allegedly chased out of a gas station by an employee who shot at him, which led to him jumping onto the Lodge Freeway, where he died from his injuries.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 10:15 p.m. in the 12000 block of West McNichols Road.
Officials said an employee came from behind the glass due to a shoplifting incident and began firing at an individual who they believed was shoplifting.
Officers were observing the area when they said they saw the gas station employee chasing the victim at gunpoint.
The employee allegedly fired a shot at the victim, which led them to arrest the employee.
How Canton Township woman’s pet snake was miraculously found after being lost in I-94 pileup
A towing company in Manchester rescued a woman’s pet snake amid a snowstorm pileup on I-94.
The incident occurred on Wednesday (Dec. 11) during whiteout conditions, leading to a small pileup.
The pileup closed the highway for around six hours, and numerous vehicles were towed, including Jessica, a Canton Township native on her way home from college for the holidays.
Jessica’s ball python, Ina, traveled with her during the crash, which led to her escape and disappearance.
A 15-year-old girl fatally shoots a teacher and a teenager at a Christian school in Wisconsin
A 15-year-old student opened fire inside a study hall at a small Christian school in Wisconsin, killing a teacher and a teenager and prompting a swarm of police officers to descend on the school in response to a second grader’s 911 call.
The girl also wounded six others in Monday’s shooting at Abundant Life Christian School, including two students who were in critical condition, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said. A teacher and three students were taken to a hospital with less serious injuries, and two of them were later released.
“Every child, every person in that building is a victim and will be a victim forever. ... We need to figure out and try to piece together what exactly happened,” Barnes said.
Police said the shooter, identified as Natalie Rupnow, was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound when officers arrived and died en route to a hospital. Barnes declined to offer additional details about the shooter, partly out of respect for the family.
Abundant Life is a nondenominational Christian school — prekindergarten through high school — with approximately 420 students in Madison, the state capital.
