Macomb County woman to spend life behind bars for killing ex’s young son

A 46-year-old woman will spend the rest of her life behind bars after killing her ex-boyfriend’s son.

In 2016, she was found guilty of first-degree child abuse of 14-month-old Nicolas Kuras and was sentenced to 11-30 years in jail.

Nicolas was hospitalized and left with severe injuries. He died due to those injuries in 2021. He was six years old. In a new trial, Ulp was found guilty of felony murder in December 2024.

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, Ulp was sentenced to life without parole.
