DETROIT – A Detroit Fire Chief was involved in a crash while responding to a reported fire Friday morning.
The fire chief was responding to a reported fire at a commercial building on Feb. 7, 2025, at around 7 a.m. when he crashed into a car at the intersection of John R and E Grand Boulevard.

Both cars were undrivable and had to be towed away from the scene.
A 53-year-old woman was sent to Henry Ford Hospital for her injuries.
The chief was also sent to Henry Ford for observation.
