Oakland County mother accused of abandoning her 3 kids for years to be arraigned -- What to know

An Oakland County mother has been charged after she abandoned her kids and left them to live alone for years.

Kelli Marie Bryant, 34, of Pontiac, was charged with three counts of first-degree child abuse after authorities discovered that her three children, had been living alone in “absolute squalor” since 2020.

If convicted, she faces up to life in prison.

Suspect arrested in 1989 Michigan cold case murder

A suspect has been arrested 35 years after the murder of a Northern Michigan woman.

According to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office, Linda Marie Meteer, 41, of the Traverse City area was found dead on Thursday, April 27, 1989, in Hoosier Valley in Grand Traverse County. She was a mother to five children at the time of her murder.

An investigative task force with officers from the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office, Traverse City Police Department, and Michigan State Police was formed to investigate her murder. The task force was unsuccessful.
