Night-mare commute? Horses shut down Michigan highway

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A group of horses shut down a Michigan highway just outside of Grand Rapids on Wednesday morning.

According to authorities, several horses were loose on M-6, between US-131 and Hanna Lake Avenue. Drivers in need of a stable commute were asked to find an alternative route.

WOOD-TV reported there were about 15 horses total that got loose from a boarding facility.

Michigan State Police said the horses’ owners grabbed a trailer and hoofed it to the highway to rein them in.

All the horses were successfully wrangled and returned home at about 9 a.m.
