Michigan couple jailed for weeks in Mexico returns home, charges dropped

A Michigan couple that spent weeks behind bars in Mexico returned home to the state.

Barrett posted to X Thursday, April 3, around 8:44 p.m. a video of Paul and Christy Akeo entering a plane.

The two, along with Barrett, landed in Lansing at around midnight on April 4.

Metro Detroit expert advises on protecting your home from gas explosion

It’s been a busy week for first responders in Wayne County, with two home explosions occurring in different communities just days apart.

Homeowners are now left wondering if there’s anything they can do to prevent such incidents.

The week began with an apartment explosion on Detroit’s west side, where at least 13 people were injured, including a 3-year-old girl. Investigators believe a gas leak caused that explosion.

Weather: Sunshine for Detroit Tigers Home Opener before rain returns for the weekend

After some sunshine throughout the day on Thursday, we’re going to keep the dry weather into the forecast for part of the day, looking ahead into the end of the week on Friday.

High pressure will control the forecast as we work throughout the day, so that will keep a filtered Sunshine into the forecast for most of the day. Temperatures will be reasonable if you’re heading outside, expect high temperatures into the middle 50s by the time we get to Friday afternoon.
