ESPN broke the news Monday (April 21) ahead of the matchup. Stewart sat out the remainder of Game 1’s dramatic collapse, during which the Knicks went on a 21-0 run in the fourth quarter to run away with the win.

Stewart came into Game 1 injured as he missed the final two games of the regular season due to inflammation in his knee and appeared to be struggling with the injury throughout the Pistons’ April 19 defeat.
His presence was barely felt, as he managed two points and five fouls in just 19 minutes.
Beef Stew left Saturday’s game in the fourth quarter for the first time as the Pistons held on to a 98-92 lead before the Knicks ended the quarter on a 33-14 run to take a 123-112 victory to improve to 1-0 in the best-of-seven series.
Look for big man Paul Reedto be the enforcer for the Pistons as they look to get a split before bringing the NBA playoffs back to the Motor City for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
