University of Michigan selects interim president amid leadership search

Grassp has been the chancellor for the Dearborn campus since 2018

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Michigan officially has an interim president as Domenico Grasso has been appointed.

Grassp has been the chancellor for the Dearborn campus since 2018.

He’s known for boosting graduation rates and research funding.

Grasso will lead the university while a search for a permanent president gets underway.

But Grasso has said he will not be seeking the full-time position himself.

The board of regents is set to confirm his appointment at their next meeting on May 15.
