The most popular baby names of 2024 have been revealed!
Every year, the Social Security Administration releases a list of the 1,000 most popular baby names in the U.S. to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Here are the top 10 most popular baby names for boys and girls for 2024:

For the sixth consecutive year, Liam and Olivia took the No. 1 spots and Noah and Emma took the No. 2 spots.
One name made the list twice, but with two different spellings! Sophia ranked at No. 6 and Sofia ranked at No. 10.
This is the first time Sofia has ranked among the top ten. This spelling of the name replaced Luna, which dropped from the top 10 this year.
All of the names that made the top 10 boys’ names list for 2024 were also the top names in 2023.
The top five boys’ and girls’ names that increased in popularity in 2024 include the following:
- Boys: Truce, Colsen, Bryer, Halo and Azaiah
- Girls: Ailany, Aylani, Marjorie, Scottie and Analeia
If we look toward the end of the full list of 1,000 names, we see Stefan, Kace, Ishaan, Aden, and Vance for boys and Raina, Karter, Lavender, Avani, and Maelynn for girls.
