Weather: Strong to severe thunderstorm chances return tonight in Metro Detroit -- What to know

Make sure you are severe weather-ready before you go to bed tonight meaning don’t have your phone on silent and make sure you are allowing push notification for weather alerts from our 4Warn Weather App. You can also utilize a NOAA weather radio because you can’t always count on hearing outdoor sirens from indoors.

Another mild morning to kickstart a warmer and more humid day. Plan for mainly clear skies during the daytime hours. The only exception is right along the state line this morning where showers drape Northwest Ohio. High temperatures will top out on either side of 80 this afternoon. We have issued a 4Warn Weather Alert for tonight as we are keeping a close eye on the potential for a line of strong to severe storms that will likely track across lower Michigan.
