WARREN, Mich. – A Warren man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two young girls in 2013.
Christopher Michael Rushing was found guilty of four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct (person under 13, defendant 17 years of age or older. His prison terms for counts one and two will run consecutively to counts three and four, and Rushing won’t be eligible for parole for 50 years.
Rushing sexually assaulted two minors in the basement of his Warren home in July 2013, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.
He was charged in August 2024 and found guilty on all counts after a jury deliberated for less than two hours after his two-day trial, which happened on March 25 and April 1 of this year.
“This verdict and sentence send a clear message: those who prey on our most vulnerable, our children, will be held fully accountable. The strength and courage shown by the victims and their families throughout this process is nothing short of heroic,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. “I commend Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Darrian Fortier for her skillful and dedicated prosecution of this case, and I thank the jury for their swift and just verdict.
