Man wearing only a cape breaks into Ohio dollar store to steal women’s underwear

WEST PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Authorities in southern Ohio are looking for a man who was captured on camera breaking into a store wearing only underwear and a cape.

It happened June 1 at a Dollar General Store in West Portsmouth, roughly 100 miles south of Columbus and 80 miles east of Cincinnati.

According to authorities, a 911 call came in at about 7 a.m. from an employee who arrived at work that day to find the front door shattered. Detectives reportedly found a trail of blood and women’s underwear stolen from the store leading away from the business.

Security camera footage from the scene can be watched in the video player above.

Surveillance video captured a shoeless man wearing only underwear and a cape smashing the glass door and heading directly into the women’s clothing section. He grabbed several packs of bras and panties before fleeing the scene, leaving a trail of blood and underwear leading to the road.

Evidence recovered from the scene has been sent for forensic testing.
