Alabama man to be sentenced in Michigan sextortion case causing teen’s death
A 30-year-old Alabama man faces sentencing today for his role in an international sextortion scheme that led to the death of a Michigan teenager.
Dinsimore Guyton Robinson of Huntsville pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering after admitting he helped Nigerian sextortionists collect and transfer funds from their victims, including 17-year-old Jordan DeMay of Marquette, who died by suicide in March 2022.
Motorcyclist dies after crash on I-75 at Lodge Freeway
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on I-75 early Thursday morning.
According to the Michigan State Police, the driver of a three-wheeled motorcycle was traveling north on I-75 near the Lodge Freeway on June 12, just after 2 a.m., when a car rear-ended the motorcycle, causing the motorcyclist to lose control and crash.
Macomb County woman who ran red light, caused fatal crash sentenced
A Richmond woman was sentenced Wednesday, June 11, after pleading no contest to reckless driving causing death.
The crash happened in February 2024. Courtney Ellise Niezgoda allegedly drove through a red light and struck another vehicle, killing 63-year-old Tina Yaney of Macomb.
