Michigan driver arrested, charged with 9th OWI offense

Suspect allegedly fled from authorities before arrest

DELHI TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 60-year-old man from Ingham County was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated for the ninth time.

The latest charge stems from several 911 calls Thursday, June 26, that reported a vehicle driving into oncoming traffic and onto sidewalks in Delhi Township, just south of Lansing.

According to authorities, Ingham County sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the man managed to evade them. He was located by deputies later and was taken into custody.

The driver was lodged at the Ingham County Jail for operating while intoxicated. He may also be charged with fleeing and eluding and resisting arrest.
