He was bound over to stand trial on the charges of assault with intent to murder, two counts of felony firearm and assault with a dangerous weapon.
The shooting happened on Friday, May 23, 2025.
Rivard allegedly started an argument with Martin Robinson, of Clinton Township, in the parking lot of King of Budz, a cannabis dispensary in Roseville.
The argument continued as the men went into the dispensary, and when they went back out to the parking lot, Rivard allegedly pulled out a gun from his waistband.
The Clinton Township man retreated, and as he was going to his car, Rivard allegedly shot him. He survived the shooting, according to the prosecutor’s office.
“Allegations that someone was shot while retreating from an argument are deeply disturbing, and we will not tolerate that kind of violence in Macomb County,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. “My office is committed to holding the defendant fully accountable and ensuring that those who endanger others face the full weight of the law. The safety of our residents will always come first.”
Rivard is being held at the Macomb County Jail on a $1 million bond.
According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Rivard filed a motion to modify his bond, but it was denied.
