Weather: Sunshine, heat and humidity return to the forecast for the end of the weekend in Metro Detroit

After most of the region saw some showers and a few thunderstorms through Saturday, we are going to dry things out for the end of the weekend and bring back more summer heat and humidity.

With the showers and thunderstorms that rolled through the region on Saturday afternoon and evening, some were on the stronger side of things, but we did not have any warnings. Despite that, the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac did confirm a tornado touchdown in Sanilac County around 4:20 PM on Saturday.
