The issue stems from a malfunction in the Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) module.

An unexpected loss of power brake assist can extend stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. The risk is heightened when Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features are engaged, as the vehicle may not brake as expected, according to NHTSA.

Affected vehicles include:

  • 2025 Ford Bronco
  • 2025 Ford Expedition
  • 2025 Ford F-150
  • 2025 Ford Ranger
  • 2025 Lincoln Navigator

The recall affects approximately 312,120 vehicles. Ford will update the EBB module software either over-the-air or at a dealer at no cost to owners.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed starting August 25, 2025. Ford owners with questions can contact customer service at 1-866-436-7332. The recall is identified by Ford as number 25S77 and by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as campaign number 25V488000.
