If released, Gille must wear a GPS tether, and he also cannot have any contact with the victims or their families.
Good Samaritans
Multiple bystanders went after Gille during the attack.
A video has been circulating on social media, showing one Marine veteran, Derrick Perry, holding Gille at gunpoint. Local 4 reached out to Perry and his family, but they respectfully declined to comment.
Another Marine veteran, Matthew Kolakowski, praised Perry during an interview with NBC-affiliate WPBN on Monday, saying he deserved more credit.
Kolakowski also helped stop Gille by pushing and throwing a shopping cart at the attacker. He and his brother-in-law were about to leave the Walmart right when chaos erupted in the store.
