‘We have to tell’: Detroit police, community leaders seek tips in unsolved teen shooting

Detroit Police and community leaders canvassed the Martin Luther King Apartments Sunday, urging tenants to call in tips on a shooting that has left a teen fighting for his life in the hospital for more than a month.

The 17-year-old victim was shot while getting out of a car outside the apartment complex on July 1st. The teen is still hospitalized in critical condition.

Suspect in fatal Royal Oak apartment shooting charged, denied bond

A man has been charged in connection with a shooting that left one dead at an apartment complex in Royal Oak, officials said.

Nathan Joshua-Olson Rockwell, 32, was charged with one count of first-degree murder, three counts of felony firearm and two counts of felonious assault with a dangerous weapon, according to a release from the Royal Oak Police Department.

6 victims in Traverse City Walmart stabbing released from hospital

Six of the 11 victims in the stabbing that happened at a Traverse City Walmart have been released from the hospital, officials said.

In addition to six people being treated and released, the Munson Medical Center announced that as of Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, three victims are in good condition and two have been treated and transferred.

The Air Quality Advisory remains in effect for today. So with that said, we will have hazy sunshine and seasonal temperatures with highs in the low 80s.

It is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory diseases like asthma. Reduce or eliminate activities that contribute to air pollution, such as: outdoor burning, use of residential wood burning devices.
