Driver on I-96 accused of flipping off, brake-checking Border Patrol cars carrying detainees

A man is facing a federal charge after allegedly flipping off Border Patrol agents and brake-checking their cars while traveling on I-96.

On July 7, 2025, Border Patrol agents were transporting 15 people detained on violations of immigration law from the Gibraltar Border Patrol Station to the North Lake Correctional Facility in Baldwin in two separate marked vehicles.

While the Border Patrol agents were traveling in the center lane on I-96 near the Kensington Road exit at around 5 p.m., one of the agents noticed a black sedan driving by their vehicles from the left passing lane.

‘Upside down, soaked in jet fuel’: Detroit flight attendant lawsuit gives look inside Delta plane crash

A Detroit flight attendant offered a glimpse inside the Delta Air Lines flight that crashed and landed upside down, saying she regained consciousness while hanging upside down and soaked in jet fuel.

Vanessa Miles, of Detroit, hired the Mike Morse Law Firm to represent her in a lawsuit against Delta Air Lines, Inc., and Endeavor Air, Inc., a Delta subsidiary.

27 days after prison release, man with 29 retail thefts accused of hitting Macomb County Target

A 66-year-old Macomb County man has been arrested for shoplifting for the 30th time.

According to authorities, Dwayne Effren Taylor was arrested Monday, Aug. 4, after reportedly attempting to take nearly $1,000 worth of merchandise from the Target Store on Gratiot Avenue in Clinton Township. He was detained by store security after he allegedly placed numerous goods in a shopping cart and left the building without paying.

Detroit mayoral race: Sheffield, Kinloch will face off in November election

Two candidates will be advancing to the general election for Detroit’s next mayor.

Mary Sheffield and Solomon Kinloch are projected to advance in the mayoral race, with Sheffield winning more than 50% of the vote in Tuesday’s primary election.

Weather: Air quality improving in Southeast Michigan with pop-up rain chances

It’s still a hazy start to your Wednesday, however the Air Quality Advisory for Southeast Michigan finally lifted overnight, but continues up north and throughout the Upper Peninsula.

With some lingering smoke, our air quality is moderate with more improvement forecasted Thursday as winds shift out of the south allowing any lingering smoke to retreat to the north.
