Accidental 911 call from Fortnite player leads to large Jackson County emergency response

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A possible active shooting situation in Jackson County turned out to be just someone playing Fortnite.

According to authorities, all active county units rushed to a home in Summit Township on reports of a shooting just before 11 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 7. The response stemmed from an accidental 911 call from someone who was playing Fortnite.

Officials confirmed the home was checked thoroughly and showed no evidence of any shooting.
